Adaptations
Examples of how we have helped clients to either remain in their homes or to make their day to day lives easier and safer.
The complete replacement of an existing bathroom to a fully accessible wet room, enabling wheelchair access in an apartment in central Bishop's Stortford. This included reconfiguring the room, maximising the floor area to include a easily-accessible basin, minimalist safety rails and aides along with the removal of the existing door, door stops to enable access to the room with a frosted glass sliding door. The lighting was upgraded and the floor finished with an anti slip coating.
This bathroom in Great Dunmow was converted into a walk-in shower room to provide short term care. The refurbishment was completed in such a way that the client (who kept the removed components) could return the space back to a bathroom at a later date with no visible change.

Here we converted this ground floor cloakroom by removing the wall to the larder cupboard in the kitchen (which was blocked up), allowing for the addition of a shower enclosure. The walls were fully tiled with ceramic tiles, a comfort height w/c was installed along with additional grabrails.
Here a main bathroom was partially converted into a walk-in shower room. A low profile tray was installed (with anti-slip coating applied) and the walls and floor were retiled with ceramic tiles whilst retaining the original vanity unit, fittings and w/c (although moving it over to make additional space.) A new ladder towel rail was installed along with grab rails and finished with upgraded lighting and redecoration.
Examples of handrails installed in Great Dunmow, Stansted Mountfitchet and Much Hadham to improve accessibility and safety. All can be removed at a later date to suit individual needs.
